Time by Gary Hopkins

What is time? Have you ever really sat down and thought about it? We either, never seem to have enough of it, have too much of it, it drags on or it flies by. It’s got to be the most under rated, ignored force that is in our lives today. We accept it for the effect it has on us but I never hear of anyone ever questioning it. Why? It seems to rule the existence of so many, so why not give it some thought?
Some of our important historical figures had their opinions on the subject. Sir Isaac Newton saw Time as a part of the fundamental structure of the universe, a dimension in which events occur in sequence, and time itself is something that can be measured. On the other hand Albert Einstein and Edgar Cayce believed there is no true division between past and future, there is rather a single existence. So, for these men, time was merely an illusion.
Who is correct? Actually all three men are correct. Even though it is widely believed that Time is an illusion, this does not mean that our illusion is any less significant to us. Time does have purpose. Time is a reference point for us. In the physical realm (the third dimension), time is a part of the structure that we get around and function in.
Being that Time is ultimately an illusion and that it is merely an extension of us, the question that I often encounter is: "Can it be manipulated?" The answer is yes. So, how do we go about doing this? First let me say that the level of difficulty is going to be dramatically different from one person to the next. However, with practice, you can create an existence for yourself that is time friendly. Time friendly meaning that you will never feel "rushed" or like you haven’t gotten enough sleep, and you will always be on time for events, meetings etc.
Let me also state that "playing" with Time can lead to states of confusion. You may experience supernatural events, time displacement, out of body experiences etc. So, if you are an executive or own your own business you may want to practice this first on a day off or the weekend, until you get the hang of it.
Playing with time is quite simple. All you need to do is put yourself in an altered state and then set your intent. Meditation would be my first choice to do this. This can be done quite easily and in many different forms. There are many guided meditation cd’s available on the market, not to mention, several free downloadable mp3’s on the Internet. (In the meditation section of this website there is a link to the Silva Ultramind website. If you sign up for Jose Silva free online course they have a wonderful guided meditation that is about 20 minutes in length and one of the best I have come across in my 10+ years of meditative practice).
Belief is a big key to this working as well. Being skeptical is one thing, but if you KNOW that this will not work for you then I would suggest not wasting your energy on this. Having said that then all you need to do is find a quiet place to meditate, just a few minutes will do. Then you will want to repeat some affirmations (your intent), in your mind a few times. Some sample affirmations are listed:
Rested Sleep:
1. "Whatever sleep I get, my body and mind will always know and feel that is the perfect amount. I will always awaken on time (if I need to be somewhere) and fully refreshed and invigorated and ready for my day."
2. "Anytime I go to sleep my body and mind will stretch time in order to give myself the perfect amount of rest needed to start or continue my day – 2 or 3 hours of rest will feel like a full 8"
Appointments:
1."Whenever I feel like I am going to be late for a meeting or an appointment, the universe will make it so that everything falls in place for me to get there on time. Traffic, stoplights, and other people will never hinder me in getting somewhere on time".
2. "Whenever I have an early day my body will automatically awaken on time and refreshed so that I may make my appointments for the day.
These are just sample affirmations. You may compose them in anyway that works for you. I would suggest starting with one intention and tracking the progress for a day or two. Then try another. If for some reason you fail in your first attempt, then try again the next day. Before long you will forget about the process of trial and error and you will fall into a state of being that is seamless with your perception of time.
**Note - For those of you that are into the 2012 scenario, this will be a good thing to practice as time and space are ultimately going to meld together. So any mastery of the mind that you may accomplish will only help you in the transitions that we encounter in the near future.
